Grinling Gibbons is a fabulous place to work, and I love coming here every day because of the positive energy I get from all the committed staff, the lovely children and their supportive families.

I have been Head of School since September 2015 and I haven’t had a dull moment yet. The family feel I get here at Grinling Gibbons is not comparable to any other school I’ve worked in. I believe in equality for all and that every child should feel safe and happy at school. I love everything about this school and its community.

I am charged with the day-to-day running of the school, promoting and developing the existing good practice throughout the school. I lead the school community in promoting positive attitudes to learning amongst pupils and staff. I pride myself on positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, governors and staff, and I demonstrate a belief in their unique contribution as individuals, to be valued and respected by all. I recognise and act upon the potential for growth for all.

Since 2015 when I started my role as HoS I have completed many CPD (continued professional development) courses but the two that I’m most proud of, are that I successfully completed the NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) and have recently completed the Confident Executive Leadership Programme for Potential CEOs.

I am equally proud to currently be a member of the Race Equality Steering Group in Lewisham and have played a role ensuring that all Lewisham schools now have a Tackling Race Inequality in Education Pledge.

The young people in our school are inquisitive learners who have a passion for learning, and this is reflected in their high levels of weekly attendance. Our families are very supportive and work closely with the school to ensure that we offer the children the best deal in order to achieve our goal of producing lifelong learners. The Grinling Gibbons school community is truly a family; a family I enjoy working with. I look forward to what each day brings and the smiling faces of the children and staff. I love the enthusiasm, dedication and drive of our staff, our children and their parents. I am very fortunate to work with a team of people who are passionate and committed to offering the children the best quality learning experiences. This helps to make my job a whole lot easier, more enjoyable and rewarding.
