Year 4
Welcome back!
Welcome to the start of another school year. It has been great to welcome your children back, and we are all looking forward to an exciting term of learning. As you know, Year 4 is a very important year, as we have the Multiplication Tables Test coming up in June. We will be working hard to make sure that your child is ready for these, but we cannot do this without your help. Thank you in advance for all your support – it is always greatly appreciated.

What we will be learning this term
- Literacy: Books of Migration and Movement, narratives, non-fiction
- Maths: Number –place Value, addition, and subtraction
- Computing: We are software developers.
- Science: Animals including humans.
- RE: Christianity -Local Christian Place of Worship/ Christianity Celebrations.
- History: ‘The Windrush Generation.
- Geography: Artic tundra and climate zones.
- Art & DT: Miniature Matchbox Museums, The Artwork of Lubaina Himid
- PSHE: Positive friendships including online, respecting differences and similarities.
- PE: Netball and Gymnastics.
- Music: ‘Rock around the clock’ song and music on Charanga
PE days
Year 4 have PE on Mondays and Fridays. On these days, children need to come to school wearing their school uniforms, with their PE kits and trainers in a bag.
PE uniform
Blue or black shorts or tracksuit bottoms, with a white T-shirt and plimsolls or black trainers. Please ensure that all kit have your child’s name on it.
